Damian Davies: My passion for the Socceroos and Aussies Abroad came about after living in London, then returning to Melbourne for the World Cup qualifier in 1997 against Iran.  Since then I have been well and truly hooked!!

I have been following and writing about our Aussies playing football abroad since then purely to ensure these players get the recognition in the Australian media that they so richly deserve.  Love the satisfaction of seeing our players develop from young kids trying their luck, to players that become Socceroos.  Now living in Singapore, watching Socceroos games live is more challenging!!

Ahmed Essof: I am originally from Zimbabwe, where I grew up and spent 15 years. After moving to Australia, I took up an interest in sports journalism and eventually planned to pursue it as a career. I am currently studying to achieve that goal and plan to work in football journalism.

My love for football is unmatched, having been a keen fan, player, analyst and coach from a very young age. I support Manchester United, Brisbane Roar, England and Australia and have likings for other teams too, but not as strong as these. If the term, breathe, live, eat and sleep football was literal, then I would be the living example of it. It is a dream to finish my degree and work in England covering the EPL and Championship for a few years, something i hope to achieve in once I finish my degree, hopefully at the end of the year.

I like to think my views on football are different as I have always been someone to watch games differently to others, analysing how a player moves and does things, rather than just watch the game. I hope to bring my ‘different’ views of football to OS Aussies and provide readers with an amazing read.
